TWAIN is a new industry standard for integrating scanners directly into applications. By using this module, a TWAIN compatible application can access the scanner directly to capture text and images.
Although few commercial products support TWAIN today, many are in development, to be introduced in the coming months. The TWAIN driver Microtek provides on this disk is a beta version. We provide it for your convenience and will upgrade it to a "full" version once it has been tested with enough applications. If you have an application which is already TWAIN-compliant or purchase one in the future, complete the following steps to install it:
Using System 6 or 7, drag the folder TWAIN from Microtek TWAIN disk onto Preferences Folder in System Folder. If you do not have a preference folder, open the System Folder and create one.
Note: Make sure the name of this folder is TWAIN and that all the characters are upper case. This installation need be done only once. Any TWAIN-compliant application you load in the future will automatically support your scanner.
